New Zealands best chances in beijing will be in our rowing team where we should win multiple medals, valerie vili and nick willis in athletics, moss burmister and hannah mclean in swimming our equestrain team, ben fouhy in canoeing, our cycling team and triathlon team.

I predict that we will win 4 medals in rowing, 1 medal in canoeing, 1 medal in triathlon, 1 medal in athletics, 2 medals in sailing and one in equestrain which means that new zealand could win up to 9 olympic medals in 2008

i will make these predictions every month until beijing

discuss

Another thing you evidently don't know how to do Biff, is check profiles.

Are you suggesting mine isn't?

And so that Morc doesn't persecute me for going off topic again: Oly, how many medals are NZ going to win you reckon?

Didn’t the Equestrian boys and girls just crap out in some tournament in Europe; meaning they have to go through a qualification process for the first time since before Toddy started.

BTW, where do they go to sail in Beijing?

And Virph; he's already said 9, and he's broken them down.

well that is not quite true re the equestrain team, we finished 6th in the teams and 7th in the individual. We had to qualify for the athens games, but i do feel our eventing team will improve and should go rather well in beijing! The sailing competition will take place off the chinese coast. The test event has just been completed where new zealand won two medals a silver in the womens laser and a bronze in the mens laser class. Barbara Kendall is heading back into action as she is getting into the world champs! Watch out Barbara is back and at her best! A top chance in beijing after being robbed of a medal in athens

At least you’re not picking Willis to win anything (I think he’ll struggle at that level)

Burmister’s still on the way up, isn’t he?

i would not count out wilis as olympic finals are generally run at a slower rate and are more tatical as well and nick won a tatical race in melbourne! He is a dark horse of 1500m running! He could suprise with a medal just like the spanish runner cacho did in 1992! Moss Burmister and the swim team are imrpoving at a great rate. Dont count them out either but im waiting to see how they go at the world champs next year before i predict any thing for them! But they are promicing. Also the mens hockey team are looking good at the moment especially after they won the world champs qualifing tournament!
