Despite the time difference of over 30 years, and a different white ball format there are some really interesting similarities between ICC tournaments.

- Pakistan were rubbish early on.
- Pakistan has made the semi-final, where they will meet New Zealand.
- England are into the semis.
- Australia failed to get out of pool play. (Sorry for the repetition)

- South Africa made up comedy value.
- Australia failed to (etc)
The main difference being that promotional photo ops were better in 1992.
