80 Minutes In 80 Words: NRL Finals Week 3
0FRIDAY: Melbourne Storm (1) V Brisbane Broncos (3) – AAMI Park – 21.55NZT
A game more than worthy enough of a grand final will surely live up to all expectation.
Melbourne have been the best team all year, there’s absolutely no doubting that.
The Broncos have got here the hard way, but will absolutely be ready to fight.
Melbourne’s strict and secure defensive line up is going to be tough to crack, but the Broncos have some strong attacking weapons to unleash.
The Broncos have to do their best to win the ruck, it’s always tough against the Storm.
Expect plenty of fireworks, physicality and typical finals footy. This is going to be a brilliant fixture.
FIRST SCORING PLAY: Broncos penalty goal
TIP: Storm 1-12
SATURDAY: Sydney Roosters (2) V North Queensland Cowboys (8) – Allianz Stadium – 21.40NZT
Fresh from a week off, the Roosters are going to be pumped for the fight.
The Cowboys got past the Sharks, and Eels – after no one gave them a chance. The Sydneysiders will be aware of this, and know just how ready the Cowboys will be to run at them.
The Roosters have to contain themselves with their discipline. Been on the wrong side of the penalty count a lot this season. A sloppy game from them could spell the end.
The Cowboys are within an inch of being the first team to finish eighth and make the grand final.
History is against them, but the way they’re played this season shows they’re writing their own tale.
Lots to be excited about for this match. I can see a lot of pressure in the first ten minutes. Whoever soaks it up the best will go on to win a close one.
FIRST SCORING PLAY: Michael Gordon try.
TIP: Roosters 1-12
