80 Minutes In 80 Words: NRL Round 18

FRIDAY: Sydney Roosters V South Sydney Rabbitohs – Allianz Stadium – 21.55NZT

After the capitulation last week by the Roosters, and minus their Origin stars this week – they’re gonna have to dig deep against the Rabbitohs.

Souths looked like the premiership winners they were last week in what can only be described as a mauling.

The Roosters will have to do everything they can to stay close in this match. If they minimise their errors, they’ll be able to compete.

Just don’t see the Rabbitohs losing this one.

TIP: Rabbitohs 13+

 

SATURDAY: Penrith Panthers V Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles – Pepper Stadium – 19.30NZT

Manly are tough to beat, and with five wins on the trot, it’s going to be hard for the Panthers.

The Mountain Men are in danger of losing touch with the top eight if they drop this match.

The Sea Eagles? Well they’re just a juggernaut at the moment. An impressive outfit who can and will make you pay if you lose focus.

I can only see a Manly win. The Panthers just don’t have enough in them at the moment.

TIP: Sea Eagles 13+

 

Melbourne Storm V Parramatta Eels – AAMI Park – 21.30NZT

This match could see the top side go down. Much like the first two matches of this round, Origin will heavily affect the outcome of this match.

Parramatta are odds on to make the eight. If they can overcome the Storm in this match, then they’re well and truly on their way.
We all know Melbourne have depth upon depth amongst their ranks, and this match will be a true test of that.

Will still be a close one.

SUNDAY: Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs V Newcastle Knights – Belmore Sports Ground – 18.00NZT

Two average teams who are playing average football finishing off an average round of football I suppose.

The Bulldogs at their proper home ground of Belmore need to give their fans something to cheer about after such a horrid season.

The Knights? Well, they’re probably going to finish last again unless they can sneak a couple of wins somewhere.
Can they win this one? Probably not. Though who really knows? Perhaps a fair outcome is a draw!
