Sporting Pictures of the week :- 28 November

The only time this site has run a words / phrases of the year competition was in 2011.  The winner was “Hughes c Guptill b Martin”  That was then, and this week the world mourned the freak passing of the Australian batsman, as shown in Adelaide.

The Canterbury Purple Kingz.  They were welcomed to Wellington last weekend for the Georgie Pie septuplet header thing.  They practiced at the Basin, and Logan Van Beek is under that.

Then, when they got to the game, Grant Elliott trolled them perfectly.

There has been a lot of talk about the poor crowds for the Pakistan tests in the UAE.  But across all series they’ve rocked up after Friday prayers.  That’s understandable, but the Mexican theme party not so much.

Ironically a guy called Beckham preformed one of the most agile sporting feats during the week.

So perhaps England rugby players aren’t quite the arrogant demons that we’re led to believe after all.  Here they are showing support to their Samoan brothers following last weekend’s test.
