Strong presence and climacool

Wellington Phoenix and adidas reveal their next generation kit for the 2015/16 A-League season
Auckland, New Zealand – Wellington Phoenix has revealed a new design for their home and away jerseys for the 2015/16 Hyundai A-League season.
Auckland?
While incorporating the classic and iconic adidas three-stripe look on the sleeves, the Wellington Phoenix home jersey has included the latest performance technologies to produce a lightweight and innovative kit that allows the players to achieve maximum results on the field.
The most notable difference for the 2015/2016 season is the away jersey, featuring a new base colour; moving to black, away from the previous white. The new black look reinforces the Phoenix’s strong presence and bold ambitions as a club.
Hey Adidas; this is the Wellington Phoenix, not the All Blacks or a bottle of milk
Another distinct feature of the new away jersey is the bright yellow spotlight, which highlights the club badge. This showcases the team and its members, ensuring they are always shining bright during away matches.
Oh dear. How did that sentence get signed off?
The global design team at adidas worked alongside players and management from the Wellington Phoenix to ensure the kit would enhance player performance, push boundaries and honour tradition.
Nothing like honouring tradition of a club about to embark on its tenth year.
adidas’ ongoing technological developments have also been incorporated in the jerseys, with in-built ventilated climacool features helping to keep players cool and dry; allowing them to perform at their peak in every game.
Climacool? We’re making words up now too?
adidas has a longstanding history in football dating back to 1954 when adidas’ founder, Adi Dassler, invented the world’s first screw-in stud boot that was used by the German team in the 1954 FIFA World Cup. Since then adidas has enjoyed an ongoing partnership with FIFA and leading global football brands around the globe including Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
That would be the West German team from memory.
The new Wellington Phoenix strip and supporter gear is available now from adidas Sports Performance stores and leading sports retailers.
