Rugby World Cup – Five Things to Do So You Don’t Fall Asleep and Miss the Games
0Watching the Rugby World Cup for those of us that are in a different time zone can be a very strenuous thing so here are five tips not to fall asleep.
All of the matches in the later stages are played after midnight including the final, while some even way deep into the “night” right before dusk. New Zealand has progressed into the final and no rugby fan should miss the game no matter the excuse. So, here are some tips on how to stay awake.
Use Every Free Moment to Get Some Rest up Until the Game
Just take a sleep when and where you can get it, and that way you won’t feel the need to sleep when you are actually supposed to. After all, the World Cup happens once every four years, which is why backing out of the events can come at a big cost. Be prepared to lose some serious pillow time, or just take a sleep during the day. You’ll get back into rhythm once the Cup ends.
Get a bit creative. Don’t be afraid to fall asleep in uncomfortable situations. When the night falls down and you come couple of hours closer to the game, you will be happy that you did. Those of you that have to work during the weekend, don’t be afraid to be a slacker.
Have Back Up Alarm Clock
One of the biggest events for the All Blacks and New Zealanders at this World Cup is the final game showdown and you wouldn’t want to miss a minute of the spectacle right from the national anthems. Listening to the anthem is one of the proudest moments, so remember to start an hour earlier at tops. Have a failsafe in case your alarm clock fails you. Set your Smartphone alarm, your analogue radio-clock, or whatever alarm you have in the house. Set one alarm after another with a 15 minute discrepancy, and don’t you think of hitting the snooze button.
Activities
Find an interesting activity that will keep you awake until the game begins. This may be anything, whatever can keep your adrenaline pumping. For example, my activity that keeps me on my toes for hours is playing at NetEnt mobile casinos and reading reviews. By the time I find a game or an online casino where I want to play I tend to peruse bonuses and promotions of all the top sites. Find your favourite activity, but make sure it is an activity that will keep you awake and alert.
Take Care of Yourself
If you are unable to adhere to the first tip, then it is essential to look after your body by providing it nutrition and plenty of water that will keep your body awake. Sodas, alcohol and pizzas go great with watching sports, but you’ll need healthier snacks if you want your body to be alert and not over encumbered with calories. Alcohol especially can easily get you to sleep, and you wouldn’t want that, so leave it for some other time when a game is played in reasonable hours. Also, do some stretching regularly until the game begins and while the game lasts. Think of it like taking a long flight.
Cheer Your Team All the Way
Watching sports is associated with loudly cheering, springing from your chair and surges of emotions. All of that is a good way to keep yourself awake while the game unfolds, unless you have some really nasty neighbours that react to every noise you make. However, a bigger tragedy would be to fall asleep during the final, so let yourself go. You can always apologize to the neighbours the next day.
