NFL Week 2 : Can a Cowboy tame a Bronco
0Des can still “put up the X”
Denver Broncos v Dallas Cowboys Monday 8.25am NZ time
The Dallas Cowboys ride into the altitude of Sports Authority Field this week to face the Denver Broncos. Both teams kicked off their season with a win over a divisional rival so confidence will be high. The Cowboys are a 12/1 favourite to win Superbowl this season which is pretty good money considering they have a high octane offence led by two second season players in quarterback Dak Prescott and Running Back Ezekiel Elliot. Their offensive line is one of the best in the NFL so Prescott always has plenty of time – and star wide receiver – the temperamental Dez Bryant – is yet to get going this season
The Broncos have a new head coach this year in defensive minded Vance Joseph. Denver rely heavily on one of the best defences in the league however with a sometimes anaemic offense
The Broncos will struggle to contain Prescott and the Cowboys and should easily account for the 2.5 point start they are getting on the road
Other games to note (Home teams first)
LA Chargers v Miami Dolphins Monday 8.05am NZ time
The Chargers have their first game in their new “soccer” stadium home ground. Don’t get sucked in by the Chargers close loss to Denver last week. Miami have the benefit of an enforced rest due to Hurricane Irma last week. Expect Jay Cutler to lead them to a win here – Miami +3.5
LA Rams V Washington Redskins Monday 8.25am NZ time
Another upset on the cards here. The Rams are not really much better than last season even under new head coach Sean McVay. Their win last week against a hapless Indianapolis Colts was flattering and their inability to run the ball still exists. The Redskins lost last week however they are a better team then the result showed. Kirk Cousins to lead them to a road upset – Redskins +2.5 points
Pittsburgh Steelers v Minnesota Vikings Monday 5.00am NZ time
The Steelers at home are usually a sure thing however they are a little banged up at the moment. The Vikings meanwhile looked the real deal in dishing out one to the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football last week. They are under rated and should push for a divisional title in the tough NFC North this season. They should account for the points they are given here at Steeler nation – Vikings +5.5
Remember the trick kicker in last weeks story ?
