Betting Tips: The candidates to win the Premier League next season
0The Premier League is the most unpredictable league in the world. There’s usually that exciting element of surprise every year. From top to bottom, teams begin the campaign with high hopes, only to fade or grow as reality dawns.
Manchester United faithful, for instance, would never have envisaged such appalling start to the 2018/19 campaign. Especially after a hugely successful previous outing, where they finished second. United have lost thrice already in eight matches, victorious four times.
In the blue-clad half of Manchester, however, there aren’t any such blows. City is joint top
alongside Chelsea and Liverpool. Maurizio Sarri’s have been the most unpredictable side thus far. Same as Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford to some extent.
Next season is an entirely different scenario. Teams will begin on a clean slate, with potentially new managers and players. With the help of sports betting tips we are forecasting the outlook of the table, preempting the top five.
5 – Tottenham Hotspur
Perennial underachievers, Spurs will struggle to finish in the Champions League places. The Lilly Whites’ drive and investment have largely gone into the new White Hart Lane. Like North London neighbours, they could strive in the coming years to balance the books.
Mauricio Pochettino’s body language is that of an unhappy man. The Argentine has been linked to bigger roles at Manchester United and Real Madrid. Should Spurs end this campaign without a silverware, he would be under pressure to step aside. If that happens, the Europa League will be the only solace.
4 – Liverpool
The Reds have been a club on course. Jurgen Klopp’s exquisite blueprint is yielding massive dividends. Last season, they went all the way to the Champions League. This term, they’re serious contenders for the Premier League.
The story could be entirely different next year. Mohamed Salah isn’t showing those predatory traits. His henchmen are equally striving for fitness and form. The Reds have a long history of stumbling when it matters most. Steven Gerrard’s famous slip stands out. Expect further capitulation in the coming campaign.
3 – Manchester City
Oh, City. With an extremely high intensity, Pep Guardiola’s team get the ball, keep the ball, pass the ball and when the time is right, bang. These simple yet effective steps attracted the most points and goals in Premier League history.
But similar to Arsene Wenger invisible, the oppositions are becoming pretty familiar with the trick. Guardiola may still sneak another league crown to the Etihad but that may never happen next season. By then, teams must have totally mastered his system. Meanwhile, there would be increased pressure to return with something from European.
2 – Arsenal
Unai Emery arrived at Arsenal without much fanfare. Quite frankly, any manager not named Wenger would be welcomed in that part of North London. The Spaniard wasn’t expected to drastically turn things around. Even the most optimistic Gooner was modest with expectations.
The less pressure, however, is counting in his favour. Arsenal is on the rise again, unbeaten in nine matches. Emery’s high-intensity style has got the Gunners firing again. With such remarkable silent turnaround, Arsenal could just be the team to beat next year.
1 – Chelsea
It is true that Sarri doesn’t recognise silverware. He could inadvertently relinquish a championship medal for a runner-up spot. Twice his Napoli side bottled in at most crucial moments to crown Juventus.
At Chelsea, the theme hasn’t really changed. The Blues are joint-top, meaning they would still finish in the second position if the league ends after eight matches. However, unlike his time in Naples, Sarri has the resources to challenge any team. If Eden Hazard stays, it would be very tough holding the Sarri Ball next year.
