0Big time games mean big time TV
Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears – Monday 2.20pm NZ time
This is a battle for NFC North supremacy and could go a long way to deciding who will win that division. Mike Zimmer, head coach of the Vikings, is one of the more underrated and low key in the NFL. He won the off season move for free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins however he has never really shown the goods that he was supposed to have.
The Vikings receiving score are some of the best and homegrown Adam Thielen is putting up the numbers. Rivals the Chicago Bears are starting a rebuild around second year quarterback Mitch Trubisky and have some other good individual players. New head coach Matt Nagy has his team playing well however he will possibly be out coached in this match up. The Vikings are a 2.5 point underdog however a strong bet to win the game outright. Pick – Vikings +2.5
Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Rams – Tuesday 2.20pm NZ time
The match up of the season brings the two best teams in both the AFC and NFC. The Chiefs have only been defeated once this season as have the Rams. Originally scheduled to be played in Mexico City as a Rams home game an unsatisfactory field meant the game moved back to Los Angeles this week. Both teams have high powered offences but not the best defence in terms of NFL rankings.
The Chiefs are managed by veteran head coach Andy Reid who recently got win number 200 as a head coach pushing him to 8th on the all time winning coaching list. Assuming this trajectory keeps going he should be ranked 6th come season end. Run by second year quarterback sensation Patrick Mahomes the Chiefs have averaged 35 points per game this season however their defence is not that watertight. Score 40 points and you have a good chance of beating them. On the other side of the fence the Los Angeles Rams average 33 points per game.
Coached by second year and youngest coach in the NFL Sean McVay he’s possibly the most innovative in terms of game plans. He does have the team to do it with an all out approach in the off season to assemble a team that has the best chance of winning it all. This game could be a classic. 35-33 to the Chiefs anyone ? the Chiefs are 3.5 point underdogs however they could easily win this. Pick – Chiefs +3.5
