Hi Sport, It’s me.
0I know it’s been a while since we did this, spent time together. Life just got in the way, for both of us, I guess.
You’re looking really good, by the way. I saw you caught a lot of people’s eye this weekend. I’m not surprised. I know I’m not the only one who finds you alluring.
Me? Oh, yeah. I’ve been… great. You know, life’s been a bit quiet, a little lonely sometimes, without you. But generally, good, thanks.
In fact, I think that time apart was really good for me. It gave me the time to reflect, and get some perspective. I thought about the good times we’ve had together, the places you took me to and the experiences we shared. The late nights, the early mornings, the surprises and even the flops – remember how sometimes you’d build me up with the highest expectations, and I walked away dejected. But I still loved you anyway.
Love. It’s a big word. Actually… that’s kind of why I came to see you today. These last couple of months, I had plenty of time to think, and I was kinda wondering, maybe, if you’re okay with it, perhaps we could start seeing a bit more of each other again? Nothing serious to start. We can take it slow, hang out, get comfortable together again.
I’d really like that.
Because if I learned anything through all of this, it’s that I didn’t know how much I needed you. You were always there for me, in my highs and my lows. I thought I knew what you meant to me, how big a part of my life you were, but this has just hammered it home. I know there’s social media and all that, but I really missed seeing you in person.
So, what do you think? I know there’s lots of people vying for your attention at the moment, and I don’t want to come across as desperate. It’s just… there’s nothing else like you in the world. I know that now, with a certainty and perspective I didn’t have before. I’ve seen a world without you, and I don’t want that for me. For either of us.
I know you have some things to think about. I get it. Just know I really enjoyed seeing you this weekend. And I’ll be keeping an eye on you. Because I really believe that you and I, we had something special, and I know we can find it again.
I love you, Sport.
See you next weekend,
Heather.
