Statchat and a question
0Tim Southee famously made 77* in his 2nd Test innings & 73 today in his 131st innings. That is the most men’s Test inns between two 70+ scores for a batter.
The first innings was the 13th time New Zealand have had all 10 batters caught in men’s tests.
With 82, Southee is 10th equal on the list of most test sixes by a batter. During that innings he went past Dhoni, K Petersen and Misbah-ul-Haq, and sits level with Hayden and Flintoff.
The Conway / Latham partnership was New Zealand’s first century partnership of the series.
Tom Latham became the 7th New Zealand batter to score 5,000 test runs.
A bigger New Zealand batting milestone is expected tomorrow.
And a question to ponder. Is the BazBall era Ben Stokes the new Mike Brearley?
