Sydney FC
The Sky Blues had a fantastic season last time out. Steve Corica’s side won the A-League Grand final after defeating Perth Glory 4-1 on penalties at the Optus Stadium. What’s more, they have strengthened further during the winter break.
Sydney FC added Alexander Baumjohann, Luke Brattan, and Patrick Flottmann to their already talented squad. They are among the most elite clubs in the division right now. Can they go all the way and replicate last seasons epic success? Time will tell, but we are expecting them to do extremely well.
Perth Glory
Last season’s A-League winners will be full of confidence. The Glory clinched their first title with plenty of time to spare after opening up an eight lead on Sydney. Can Tony Popovic’s men do it all again? We wouldn’t rule it out. They have one of the most talented squads in the division.
Diego Castro is one of the most formidable players in A-League history. We’re expecting the Spanish forward to contribute will plenty of goals and assists during this campaign. However, players like Neil Kilkenny and Nicholas D’Agostino also have lots to offer. It’s an exciting time for Glory supporters. They should compete for the title again.
Melbourne Victory
Melbourne Victory have won three A-League premierships since their foundation in 2014. However, their last title came back in 2015. For that reason, new manager Marco Kurz has outlined his desire to bring the trophy back to AAMI Park at the end of this season
Swedish forward Ola Toivonen is one of Victory’s biggest assets. If their star man fires on all cylinders this season, they could compete with Sydney FC and Perth Glory for the championship. Elvis Kamsoba will also cause plenty of problems for defences. The Burundi-born midfielder is one of the fastest players in the A-League right now.
