Booyah! – RIP Stuart Scott
3It was a sad day to awake to the news that Stuart Scott had passed away this morning pre the NFL Wildcard games. These match ups were now put into the background as the tributes and reflections on Stuart’s life and career at ESPN were put to the forefront.
Stuart Scott brought a freshness to the flagship ESPN Sportscenter programme and his famous catch cry of “Booyah” whenever a home run or any other big play was shown was legendary.
Tributes from the USA sports stars and media are aplenty and even President Obama was quick to show respect
Scott’s well publicised ongoing battle with cancer was openly discussed at on ESPN and his strength in battle was celebrated at last year’s ESPN ESPY awards. His approach to cancer was sensible and measured – like the man himself.
One of his final tweets said it all:

Stuart – you will be sorely missed by this Sportcenter fan. “Booyah” was you to a tee however a personal favourite was “They call him the Windex Man cause he’s always cleaning the glass.” For basketball fans you know what this means.
RIP My Man.
+1
And +1 to that too
Sad. I always enjoyed his positivity- he obviously loved his job. BOOYAH Stuart Scott.
