Joshua :- Parker
0The fight of the year has been labelled “the most meaningful heavyweight fight in a long time” and there’s no shortage of opinions on picking a winner. With two unbeaten champions and three world heavyweight titles on the line when Anthony Joshua faces Joseph Parker in Cardiff on March 31st.
The AJ vs Parker odds on Paddy Power has AJ 1/12 and Parker 11/2. One out of the two athletes will be dealt the harsh truth that they no longer hold consecutive wins. AJ seems to be accustomed to being the bearer of bad news to his previous challengers, such as Carlos Takam who Parker has defeated also. Both had their fair share of difficulty when battling it out against Takam, who proved himself to be a very strong contender.
Parker’s more precise style will pose a greater threat than previous competitors Joshua has faced. As Parker tends to throw his shots in quick concession, if the first punch doesn’t get his opponent, the second one surely will, which could result in a knockout.
There is a lot riding on both athletes to be the triumphant heavy weight champ. Parker has received criticism on his physical shape and fitness by British TV host, Graham Norton on The Graham Norton Show. Anthony Joshua made an appearance on the show, where Norton then labelled Parker as ‘The King of Pies’ which deeply offended the 24 consecutive wins champ. Parker is now more determined than ever to prove that he is at the peak of his fitness in his boxing career.
Parker has also stated his plans for the upcoming year of 2018, as he plans on fighting Anthony Joshua twice this year! He plans on challenging AJ to a rematch later this year, despite being adamant that he’ll be victorious athlete after the match on the 31st March. Parker will have to give his best performance to beat AJ, especially as the fight provides home advantage for Joshua.
