NRL Review. Round 18
0By Stephen Gallagher
Raiders 36 Knights 22
The Raiders went on a first half rampage on the back of a fifteen minute hattrick from Mr Blake Austin. The Knights put up a second half fight back but that was not enough to fight off the Raiders. Newcastle are in disarray.
Roosters 24 Panthers 4
A backline effort of epic proportions was the key as the Panthers took a slight step back and let the Roosters in. They were slick with ball in hand, The Panthers opportunities were limited, and the Roosters pounced.
Broncos 16 Bulldogs 8
Five in a row the Broncos now. The weather played a huge part, with thunder and lightning limiting the scoring options and spreading the ball wide. The Broncos had plenty of muscle, and that was the difference.
Warriors 28 Storm 14
The defence the Warriors showed was great, and the Storm’s attack was a little off – however, this game will forever be remembered for the Friend Flip, which set up the try of the year. I was lucky enough to be there to see it right in front of me – and I will take it to the grave. The Warriors are now a top four side!
Sharks 28 Dragons 8
The Dragons had no show of winning this, with a depleted roster and a Sharks side finding form. They are now on the verge of dropping out of the top eight, and the Sharks will serge up the table with more performances like that.
Sea Eagles 38 Titans 6
It was one way traffic all night as the sluggish Titans couldn’t contain the steam train of the Sea Eagles. A 20-0 half time deficit was something they were never going to overcome, and they were lucky they even scored a try. The Sea Eagles will cause plenty of problems for top eight sides in the run to the finals.
