NRL Review. Round 20
0By Stephen Gallagher
Broncos 34 Titans 0
The Broncos absolutely blitzed the Titans who offered nothing at all. The Broncos were never in doubt of winning this match. They are such an incredible force. The Titans have scored 8 points in three weeks, and are slowly getting worse every week. The Broncos gave them a lesson for sure. It was a great win by a team looking to win the Minor Premiership.
Roosters 33 Tigers 8
The Roosters fought hard and pulled away in the second half to leave the young Tigers reeling. It was another clinical performance, which sees the Roosters going from strength to strength. The Tigers were competitive in the first 40, but they could not keep up with the physical nature of the Roosters. They’re going to go close this season to winning it.
Sea Eagles 32 Warriors 12
Was this the game that the Warriors look back on to cost them a spot in the Top 8? Shaun Johnson’s broken ankle was worse than the loss for the side, but the Sea Eagles got it done with ease. Brett Stewart has NEVER lost to the Warriors, that says a lot about just how much Manly get the result over the Warriors, no matter what side of the ditch they play. The Warriors looked tired and lacking in energy.
Storm 22 Dragons 4
The Dragons losing streak hits 7, as the Storm’s home game in Napier was a goodie for the Victorians. A healthy crowd cheered for both sides – but it was a competitive match despite the scoreline. The Storm put points on when they got the opportunities – their patience was the clincher.
Rabbitohs 52 Knights 6
Three minutes in to this match, the Knights had the lead! Unfortunately for the last 77 minutes they conceded 52 points and they lost their coach Rick Stone for good, as on Monday he was SACKED by the club. The Knights are in disarray and have no chance of making the eight. They’re a current embarrassment. The Rabbitohs looked scary. Hat-tricks to Walker and Inglis.
Raiders 34 Panthers 24
It was tit for tat for 70 minutes, but the Raiders finally broke out, hit the lead and never looked back. Six tries in the first half set up an attacking grandstand which was awesome to watch. The Panthers couldn’t do enough, even with a healthy helping hand from the video ref giving them two tries which shouldn’t have been. Raiders love winning away from home.
Sharks 18 Bulldogs 16
What a performance by the boys from the Shire. To beat the Bulldogs at Belmore is a feat within its self. They went down 16-4, and was hard for them to come back. A penalty given away by none other than Josh Reynolds was the difference in the end. The Sharks got it done and are in the top eight!
Cowboys 46 Eels 4
Well the first half was slow by both sides, but the Cowboys definitely pulled away and destroyed the Eels who never really stood a chance of winning this match anyway. Cowboys are hot right now, the Eels are having another season where they’re rubbish and offer nothing. Anyone surprised?
