NRL Week 6
0By Stephen Gallagher
THURSDAY: Dolphins V Panthers – Suncorp Stadium – 22.00NZT
The Dolphins aim to capitalize on their home advantage against the Panthers, who welcome back fullback Dylan Edwards after a groin injury. Scott Sorensen also returns from concussion, bolstering Penrith’s lineup.
The first win of the season would have tasted so sweet, but the bitter taste of four-losses-on-the-trot for Penrith will be way more sour.
I think that’s a big one for Penrith. They have to win this.
TIP: Panthers 1-12
FRIDAY: Dragons V Titans – WIN Stadium – 20.00NZT
Both teams seek redemption following Round 5 losses.
The Dragons maintain their previous lineup, while the Titans benefit from the returns of David Fifita and Sam Verrills.
These games are getting away from the Dragons. Coughing up another loss after leading by 12 hurts.
The Titans, ready to bounce back after being so poor last weekend.
TIP: Dragons 1-12
Broncos V Roosters – Suncorp Stadium – 22.00NZT
The Broncos, currently second on the ladder, host the struggling Roosters, who sit at 16th.
Expect Adam Reynolds to still play despite that hamstring issue, while the Roosters introduce Hugo Savala at halfback for dropped Chad Townsend.
The Roosters aren’t having much luck. The Broncos are getting the wins and banking them all up. A very good side that’s looking to really put the Roosters away.
TIP: Broncos 13+
SATURDAY: Sharks V Sea Eagles – Optus Stadium, Perth – 17.00NZT
The Sharks receive a boost with key players returning, while the Sea Eagles welcome back prop Josh Aloiai from a shoulder injury.
Both teams aim to climb the standings in this neutral venue clash as the first of the double header in Perth.
Sharks are more desperate to win than Manly – but these teams are so similar in many aspects.
TIP: Sharks 1-12
Rabbitohs vs. Cowboys – Optus Stadium, Perth – 19.30NZT
South Sydney faces injury challenges, with Latrell Mitchell stepping into the halves alongside Bud Sullivan is a great addition.
The Cowboys are bolstered by the return of Reuben Cotter from illness, aiming to build on their recent upset victory over the Panthers.
Liking what I am seeing from this Rabbitohs side, and they enjoy playing in the west.
TIP: Rabbitohs 13+
Eels vs. Raiders – TIO Stadium, Darwin – 21.35NZT
The Eels have to adapt to the absence of Zac Lomax, sidelined due to injury despite that epic game winner last week, while the Raiders maintain consistency with an unchanged lineup.
Both teams vie for crucial points in this Darwin encounter.
Whatever Ricky is building down in Canberra – I want to see it succeed. It’s looking good.
Eels looking a lot better than they were five weeks ago, but typically struggle in this one up in the Northern Territory.
TIP: Raiders 1-12
SUNDAY: Storm V Warriors – AAMI Park – 16.00NZT
Melbourne sticks with their previous 17-man squad, showcasing confidence in their lineup.
The Warriors see Rocco Berry return, aiming to make an impact in this one after a long injury absence.
Whatever you think about the Warriors being the Storm’s bogey side are wrong. They haven’t lost in 9 years to the Wahs. This won’t change.
Despite how much more the Warriors are punching above their weight in 2025 – a true test against the Storm will bring them back to earth.
TIP: Storm 13+
Knights vs. Wests Tigers – McDonald Jones Stadium – 18.05NZT
The Knights grapple with injury setbacks, prompting lineup adjustments.
The Wests Tigers benefit from the returns of key players Luai, Skelton, and Fainu, seeking to leverage this advantage on the road.
Weird that this is round six and already these two teams are playing each other. What’s up with that?
Anyway, that loss last week from Newcastle wasn’t that bad, all things considering.
Tigers will be better – and this really is anyone’s game.
TIP: Knights 1-12
