Serie A. Here in New Zealand
15Serie A. The Italian football league.
A league that over the years has given us Matthaus, Van Basten, Gullit, Platini, Maradonna, Roberto Baggio, Ronaldo, Zidane, Cannavaro etc.
As for the clubs themselves. AC Milan, Juventus, Internazionale, Roma and all. The names are familiar to us in New Zealand, but the only times we have got to see them play on our screens has been in the UEFA Champions League. With commentary provided by Tommy Smyth with a y, and his friends.
Until now.
Premier League Pass has caused a stir in NZ sports media circles by offering the English Premier League to our screens and computers in a more interactive and less complacent way than the previous providers of that service.
But it is not stopping there.
Now it is extending its football content, and bringing Serie A to New Zealand for the first time for Platinum subscribers.
So from this coming Monday evening you can watch an hour long weekend highlights package, featuring all the games of the round.
Some of the editing is a little jumpy; it is a bit like the coverage of Wynton Rufer playing for Werder Bremen all those years ago. Seems more exotic somehow.
But wait, there’s more. Exclusive to Sportsfreak. Five Free Day Passes to be given away. ($25 worth)
Put in the comments why you should get one of these passes and you can be in to win
Judge’s decision is final. Competition closes at noon on Monday (NZT)
