Sporting Pics of the Week : December 13
1The week when Nelson Mandela passed away. Even in death his impact was massive; he even managed to inject a brief moment of dignity into the Ashes as players showed their respect before a day’s play.
It did not last for long though. Here’s Mitch giving Jimmy Anderson the glad eye.
Back to Mandela, and here’s Didier Drogba’s tribute while playing for Galatasaray. He has a “Please Explain” to the Turkish FA over this but surely, surely, no action will be taken.
Time for a Segway into the Basin Reserve test. Darren Bravo is not only a decent bat, but he looks pretty comfortable riding these things.
Traditional HRV Cup mascot picture. You might think these mascots are flashy things with short attention spans, but Pyro entertained the crowd throughout the first day. Here he is taking part in that great Kiwi tradition; cricket during the lunch break.
Last weekend Manchester United lost at home against Newcastle in roughly twice the number of years since they last lost at home to Everton which was the previous weekend’s record. Anyway, not sure David Moyes is taking this too well.
Back to the Ashes, and not wanting to put the boot into a side when down, but from the archives. Stuart Broad at his most loveable.
And, really, no caption can do this justice.
Thanks to Dan, BLACKCAPS and Russell for their help (Russell being the only person on the planet brave enough to type “Stuart Broad” into Google Images.
