The Trilogy #Statchat
0This is #statchat heaven, and possibly a bit nerdy.
This weekend New Zealand plays in its third consecutive ICC final across all three formats since July 2019.
For a small nation the most impressive thing about this is the way separate squads have been allowed to develop. Sometimes interleaving, sometimes being used as a pathway, other times being left to get on with their own thing.
As it happens Kane Williamson and Trent Boult are the only constant. No other player will have appeared in all three finals.
From a stats point of view there is a really almost symmetric breakdown of appearances.
21 players used, with 7 statistical permutations of how they might have fallen.
All Three: Williamson and Boult.
ODI and T20: 3
ODI and WTC: 4
WTC and T20: 1, Southee
ODI alone: 2
WTC alone: 4.
T20 alone: 5. (We have a winner)
