Tweet of Origin
0Sport, 2016 style:
In the lead up to State of Origin this week the Twitter team has developed a “Tweet of #Origin” team based on the most mentioned players on Twitter. Check it out below to see how it looks.
Whilst Mitch Pearce didn’t make the dream team, he did make the bench. Also, although he is often the first on the QLD team sheet, Cooper Cronk didn’t make the team with Josh Reynolds forcing his way into the side, which was based on Twitter conversations. Bolters Valentine Holmes and Jimmy Tedesco make the side for all the right reasons
So who will it be, @NSWRL or @QLDMaroons that will get to post that victory Tweet at full time on Wednesday June 1st? For what it’s worth, it’s the Blues who already have the upper hand when it comes to Twitter with almost 63,000 followers, compared to the Maroons’ 55,000.
Also, there is the announcement of the launch of custom emojis specifically for the State of Origin series. By using #UPTHEBLUES, NSW fans can activate this cockroach emoji. If you’re a Queensland fan, using #QLDER will show this angry looking cane toad. Check out the emoji here:
Enjoy #Origin and remember to Tweet your support throughout the series using #uptheblues or #QLDER! And for more information, check out the Twitter blog here:
